What is i-Text?

i-Text is web based mobile messaging service which enables individuals and businesses to communicate via text, voice and e-mail messaging.


How does i-Text work?

i-Text has been designed to be as simple as possible for you to use, with advanced features available when you require them.

Sending a message is a simple process:

• Collect (with their permission) customer names and mobile numbers ;
• Enter them into the i-Text address book;
• Purchase the correct number of message credits;
• Write a message;
• Select the recipients - either individuals or groups of people;
• Press send.

What do I need to use i-Text?

i-Text is an online system, you only need to be able to connect to the internet. Currently i-Text is best viewed from a PC using Internet Explorer version 5 or above, or on a Mac using Safari or Firefox browsers. You may also access the service through your BlackBerry or other handheld device.


What does SMS stand for?

SMS (Short Message Service), commonly referred to as "text messaging," is a service for sending short messages of up to 160 characters to mobile devices, including cellular phones, smartphones and PDAs.

SMS is similar to paging. However, SMS messages do not require the mobile phone to be active and within range and will be held for a number of days until the phone is active and within range. SMS messages are transmitted within the same cell or to anyone with roaming service capability.


How many mobile phone numbers can I send to in one 'batch' broadcast?

You can send as many messages as you like as long as you have enough message credits available.


Will the numbers I send be used by i-Text or any third parties?

All the numbers and messages that you send are treated in the strictest confidence. We will never use them or share the information with other companies.


Do I get notified when my message credits are low?

Yes, you automatically receive an e-mail when a certain level of message credits remain in your account. You can change the warning threshold to whatever level you wish.


Am I able to try the service before I buy some credits?

What format should mobile numbers be in?

Mobile numbers should be in International format without the leading '00' or '+'. For example, a New York number would be entered as: 12121234567.
